Psychological defence and disinformation research
Psychological defence concerns the effects of, and resilience to, attempts at undue information influence that may affect a nation and its interests. Lund University’s Psychological Defence Research Institute is a multidisciplinary research unit within the Department of Communication that focuses on both the theory and practice of psychological defence. Its emphasis is on analysing and countering hostile information influence operations and hybrid threats. The institute also conducts research, builds strategic partnerships with other research institutions, organises seminars and conferences, and ensures that findings and trends are shared with relevant authorities.
