City-Led Research

The Helsingborg R&D Fund

The Helsingborg Research and Development Fund supports research that aligns with the city’s priorities and benefits the public. It provides funding for projects with the potential to improve quality of life in the city and to support research in, with and about Helsingborg, in collaboration with Lund University, Campus Helsingborg. Researchers affiliated with the university and with an interest in developing solutions for the city’s future are invited to apply.

The searching city

This was one of Helsingborg’s largest projects in which research played a pivotal role. City departments, academia and residents worked together to develop and test new solutions to longstanding challenges. The project aimed to support a research-led learning process across the city’s organisations and to test new ways of working across departments and sectors, with the goal of improving quality of life in Helsingborg. It was composed of five test labs: The Citizen Lab, Dementia-friendly Helsingborg, The Data Lab, Designed Living Environment, and Self-Managing Teams.
