Swedish fika

Guide: Fika

The people of Helsingborg love fika, and there are plenty of cafés to choose from. Pick from classic cafés such as Fahlmans Konditori or the historic Café 1886, where the story of Zoégas began. The wheels of the classic coffee grinders are still turning here. Or visit award-winning cafés recognized by White Guide, such as Bruket Kaffebar and Brödkultur.

Fahlmans Konditori

Fahlmans Konditori is Helsingborg’s oldest café, founded in 1914 by pastry chef Georg Fahlman. Since 1921, the café has been located in its historic premises at the beginning of Kullagatan. Here, classic pastries and confectionery are served alongside new creations that refresh the traditional selection. A natural place for fika in a historic setting.

At Étoile Café & Bistro, food and drinks are served from morning to evening, with a menu ranging from breakfast plates and lunch salads to tapas and coffee with cake. Here, you are welcomed by a relaxed, continental atmosphere where it feels just as natural to stay for hours as it does to stop by for a quick break.

Chocolatte

Chocolatte Helsingborg is the small chocolate factory that has gained major international recognition, including awards from the International Chocolate Awards. Here, pralines and chocolate are made on site, and you can enjoy a fika, shop products to take home, or experience the craftsmanship behind the counter. During summer, homemade ice cream is also served.

Bruket Kaffebar

At Bruket Kaffebar, sustainability and craftsmanship are at the heart of everything. Everything is made from scratch using seasonal ingredients, and the menu changes throughout the year. Breakfast, lunch, and fika are served alongside carefully selected coffee, with a strong focus on quality and fair conditions for producers. Bruket has been awarded the distinction of Masterclass by White Guide Café.

Brödkultur 2.0

Brödkultur is located at Sofiero Palace estate, in the former royal stable with close proximity to the palace, open fields, and the sea.
